Course Overview

Alexander Borodin, Modest Mussorgsky and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov wrote some of the most beautiful music of the Russian Romantic movement.  Such works as the Polovetzian Dances, Scheherazade, Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures at an Exhibition are well-known and frequently performed. But there is much more fascinating music to be discovered. We'll listen to and discuss some of the lesser-known but no less compelling works of these three characteristically-Russian composers.
