Course Overview

This course will introduce participants to the basic principles in ethical theory found in philosophical ethics from the Ancient Greeks to the present day. We will examine some ethical issues applying the different ethical theories. We will discover the strengths and weaknesses of the various theories. No previous philosophical or ethical knowledge is required. Just a desire to learn! Suggested texts: Ethics for Dummies by Christopher Panza and Adam Potthast; The Complete Idiot's Guide to Understanding Ethics (Second Edition) by David Ingram and Jennifer Parks, available at Amazon or from your bookseller.
