Course Overview

People from Ireland, Scotland and Wales experienced forced and voluntary emigration to parts of the British Empire. Since 1800, millions of Celts have left their homelands. Many were forced out by political and religious oppression. Others fled poverty and famine, and some were shipped off due to crimes under British rule. We’ll include a look at the three smaller Celtic homelands of Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man. Let’s find out where these Celts went. How did they survive? And did they prosper?
