19733 - New Mexico’s Venomous Snakes: Staying Safe!

Course Overview

Many New Mexico residents have relocated from other parts of our country, to lovely New Mexico, and the critters that one finds here, may be very different from those that they have left behind! This discussion will hopefully answer many of their questions about the natural history, biology, and toxicology associated with the venomous snakes of our new environment, for a danger better understood, is a danger better avoided!

The presentation based discussion will cover many of the snakes found around New Mexico that might show up in our yards, homes, or on hikes in the area.

You presenter is a boarded clinical toxicologist, who for 33 years served as the managing director of one of our nation’s certified regional poison control centers. His area of expertise within the vast field of toxicology was and remains those poisons to be found in Nature.
