Course Overview

Thought those Saturday morning cartoons were just for kids? The Golden Age of Cartoons is generally said to stretch from about 1935-1955. Enormous work went into these short subjects and they produced not for kids but for a general audience. We'll examine some of the ingenious minds behind this uniquely American art form and talk about how it reflected the culture of the time.  And of course we'll watch a dozen or so cartoons, re-living childhood memories of Saturday mornings.
