Course Overview

In the next few months, a long anticipated project will finally come to fruition in Egypt.  The new Grand Egyptian Museum will open at Giza, Egypt, just a stone’s throw from the Great Pyramids. The opening will again focus on one of the world’s greatest adventure stories, that of the discovery and excavation of the tomb of the boy king, Tutankhamun. We will examine how this important find came to be made, the people and stories involved, and the trove of outstanding objects that were uncovered, also discussed will be the effects of this discovery on art, music, fashion and popular culture.
