Course Overview

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has published six major Assessment Reports since 1988.  They confirm the key role of carbon dioxide (CO2) as a cause of greenhouse warming and demonstrate that Earth’s climate is warming in response to human caused increases in atmospheric CO2 and other greenhouse gases. This class presents an overview of the development of the science of paleoclimatology and recent advances in the understanding of the causes and substantial impacts of climate change, and how paleoclimatic research strongly supports the theory of current and future human-caused climate change.
