Course Overview

Alexander Borodin, Modest Mussorgsky and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov wrote some of the most beautiful music of the Russian Romantic movement, often called the Golden Age of Russian culture. Such works as the Polovetzian Dances, Scheherazade, Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures at an Exhibition are well-known and frequently performed. But there is much more music composed by these three. In this one-session course, we'll listen to and discuss some of the lesser-known but no less majestic works of these eminently-Russian composers.
