96527 - From Curiosity to Credibility: A Practical Guide to Research
Course Overview
Do you have pressing questions about your community, industry, or organization but don't know where to start? This course demystifies the research process for non-researchers. We will transform your curiosity into a credible, actionable research plan. You will learn how to refine a vague idea into a focused research question, determine if your question can be answered with data, explore different methods for collecting that data (surveys, interviews, public data), and consider the validity of your approach. The course is project-based; you will leave with a complete research proposal for a topic of your choosing, ready for execution. This proposal can be used to kickstart an internal project at work, apply for a community grant, or simply provide a structured plan for exploring a passion project.
