The Mentoring Institute proudly presents the Mentoring Micro-Credentials Program—a dynamic professional development series crafted to advance mentoring expertise and strengthen program leadership across academic and professional sectors. Earn up to four (4) stackable micro-credentials that demonstrate your mastery, skills, and competency in building and evaluating mentoring relationships, programs, networks, and ecosystems.

About Mentoring Micro-Credentials
This course is offered through UNM Mentoring Institute.

The UNM Mentoring Institute provides a unique opportunity to become well-prepared mentors and program managers who can achieve professional recognition by earning Micro-Credentials in mentoring theory and evidence-based effective practice. The program includes two-part courses for faculty, staff, and graduate students in higher education to develop foundational, intermediate, and advanced skills. The Micro-Credentials serve as certificates of successful program completion. Each Micro-Credential is 16 hours of live online instruction, which totals 64 instructional hours in the full program.
At the successful completion of these programs, participants will increase their skills, resources, and knowledge to become effective mentors and mentoring program managers in institutions of higher education. Each participant can earn up to four (4) Micro-Credentials from the Mentoring Institute.
- Develop skills of active and deep listening, questioning, goal setting, feedback, and acting ethically
- Identify one's own and others’ motivations and write developmental plans allowing to promote professional growth
- Increase effectiveness during mentoring conversations and relationships
