Course Overview

At Pearl Harbor, American radar detected the approaching Japanese aerial armada 130 miles out and correctly reported the sighting to headquarters. Five weeks before the Al Qaida attacks on September 11, 2001, intelligence briefed President George W. Bush that Al Qaida was considering hijacking commercial airliners and deliberately crashing them into American skyscrapers.  In 2022, nearly every single retired military flag officer, former national security adviser, former Secretaries of Defense and heads of the CIA publicly advised President Joe Biden that Ukraine needed American F-16 fighter jets and ATACM precision missiles to succeed. Over and over, simple obvious measures were not employed, thus opening the door to disaster. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves and does our current approach to national security portend more disaster?
