13509 - Holiday Card Making
Course Overview
In this workshop, we'll make two finished card projects. Our focus will be on making clean & simple cards -- often these are greeting cards without lots of layers or tons of bling or fuss. We'll explore some fun techniques with inks and paper and subtle ways to add finishing touches!
Project 1: Winter Solace - 5x7" card & envelope
Techniques: masking, ink blending, emboss resist, stamping (sentiment), adding finishing touches (snow, spatter, spritzing, embellishments)
Project 2: Embossed Snowflakes - 4.25x5.5" card & envelope
Techniques: paper sanding, dry embossed surface, stamping (sentiment), adding finishing touches (snow, spatter, spritzing, embellishments)
Bonus Project: to be determined (tag, hot cocoa pockets, or stamped card to color)

This workshop is part of the New Mexico Arts & Crafts Festival held on November 9, 2024 at UNM Continuing Education. There will be craft workshops going on throughout the day, as well as artist booths and food trucks. Join this workshop to make your own gifts and then shop for unique, locally handmade gifts from New Mexico artists and vendors.
