2146 - Paper Marbling
Course Overview
Paper marbling is a method of mono printing which can produce patterns similar to marble stone. These patterns are created by paint color floated on top of the surface of a viscous water solution which is a piece paper is then applied to, absorbing the paint pattern. This method has been used for several centuries, most commonly used in bookbinding and stationary. Students will learn how to create large and small scale pieces, how to manipulate the color and patterns, and how to replicate this process on their own.What You'll Learn
This class will teach students how to create beautifully patterned paper through the craft of paper marbling. Marbling is the art of printing multi-colored swirled or stone-like designs on paper. The patterns are created by first floating paint color on the surface of a thickened water solution, and then laying the paper onto the colored surface to absorb the pattern. Detailed prints are made by manipulating the paint surface with different marbling combs.

Who Should Attend
Anyone can attend! Marbling is an incredibly easy and fun art medium. It requires very little materials and requires no prior art experience or knowledge. Marbling is an excellent medium to create all kinds of different designs and requires no prior drawing or artistic experience. Every print is completely unique and fun to make. These beautiful prints can be hung as art prints, used as cards or stationary, bound in books, and much more!

- Your choice of 3 or more different colors of GOLDEN (brand) High Flow Acrylic - 1oz dropper bottles
- 3 sheets of “Masa” Japanese rice paper 21” x 30” (we will cut into smaller pieces) - $2 sheets available at Albuquerque Artisan Art store
- Cheap hair dryer
