Course Overview

In this course, participants will learn how to create a learning environment and establish a classroom culture and climate that is trauma informed and conducive to meaningful learning. Meeting the social-emotional learning needs of students will be emphasized. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on and analyze their current classroom environment, culture, and approach to discipline and classroom management.

What You'll Learn

1. Review the impact of trauma on behavior and social-emotional well-being.

2. Identify trauma-informed and trauma responsive approaches to classroom management.

3. Identify shifts in classroom culture that support a trauma-responsive classroom environment that fosters safety and belonging and is conducive to learning.

4. Create a plan for establishing a classroom climate and environment that is trauma informed.
