Course Overview

Course includes one more session offered on a Friday afternoon once a month. The final topic is:

Blood, Sweat & Tears: Jazz Rock in America
December 2

Formed in New York City in 1967, Blood Sweat & Tears began with a bold, brassy, jazz-rock sound that quickly attracted critical acclaim. From the very beginning they took chances, recording music influenced by everyone from Billie Holiday and Thelonious Monk to Erik Satie and Sergei Prokofiev. Rather than falling into the virtuosic excesses of jazz fusion bands, BS&T fused rock, pop, soul, big band and contemporary classical music to the delight of their fans.
