38140 - Pharmacy Technician (ASHP) Online
Course Overview
The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Exam. Students study pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, nonsterile compounding, and pharmacy law, regulations, and standards as well as topics specific to working in retail or institutional pharmacies.
During the training, students have the opportunity to participate in an on-site externship at a local Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, or independent pharmacy.
The program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists® (ASHP) / Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), which means it meets the high standards set by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Includes e-books, a drug reference handbook, and lab kit. Students will be connected with an externship partner so they can fulfill graduation requirements. Course is 292 hours online self-paced program, 12 month access. Course also requires externship placement, these hours vary from 130-200 hours.
