Course Overview

This class will explore what it takes to go from initial thought to the finished poetic page. Each student will be shown how to recognize the poetry of their own life and how to translate that into a finished piece.

About the Instructor: Tim has published “Frame of Mind,” a poetry book about his lifelong learning process. He writes about life and love. Tim has created many chapbooks*, the first of which was done on a typewriter (it was the 1980s!) Each student will receive a chapbook from the personal material produced in this class. A frequent reader at “Fixed & Free,” a monthly reading venue, Tim has been published in each of its poetry anthologies.

*A chapbook is a small paperback booklet, typically containing poetry or short stories.
