Course Overview

This class provides a thorough introduction to herbs and herbal medicine making. You’ll explore many of the herbs used in making tinctures, salves and teas. You’ll taste, touch, smell the herbs, learn to recognize them and understand how they're used. Explore the various body systems and begin to learn the ways in which herbs can act on our bodies, and where in our bodies they can be most effective. We’ll discuss basic gardening techniques and the easy to grow herbs for this area, and ethical sourcing of herbs. You’ll learn basic medicine making including teas, tinctures, salves. You’ll take home a salve and a tincture for personal use.
