Course Overview

The roots of glass making may be traced back thousands of years. While its uses have been practical at the core, glass art may be seen throughout history as a creative expression, from stained glass, blown glass, fusing and other methods through the modern glass sculptures and art of today. Join the glass artists and expert instructors of Aurora Borealis Glassworks to explore this beautiful and unique form of artistic expression.

We’ll cover the basic safety, equipment, and tools used in glass working. Participants will pick a color and make two paperweights. This program will provide the necessary skills to move forward, learning more advanced glass blowing techniques. Participants are fully guided through the process and assisted by professionals as needed. Materials are included for your adventure in glass making!

Who Should Attend

Appropriate for participants with limited or no glass making experience. This course is required for more advanced glass art programs.

Additional Information

Materials included in price. Participants will have multiple color choices and will pick up their work the next day or when possible.

Cotton shirts and closed toe shoes are required. Snacks and water recommended.
