16300 - T'ai Chi Chih for Beginners
Course Overview
T’ai Chi Chih® is an easy-to-learn moving meditation series of 19 movements and 1 pose designed to activate, balance and circulate the body’s natural energy or “chi.” In T’ai Chi Chih, whose name means “Knowledge of the Supreme Ultimate,” the concentration is placed in the soles of the feet as we flow forward and back or side-to-side. While no particular effect is guaranteed, the rhythmic and gentle movements cultivate a feeling of being relaxed yet gently energized, like that of having taken an internal bath. In the Beginners’ class, we will learn the entire T’ai Chi Chih form as well as other meditative practices taught by Justin Stone, the originator of T’ai Chi Chih, designed to invite our knowing of ourselves and to uncover the inherent joy within us all.
