FOR UNM STAFF & FACULTY
Learn how to constructively communicate in difficult and uncomfortable situations Get tools to enhance your day-to-day conversations that can positively impact your professional and personal life. When people feel they can't discuss difficult workplace issues or be candid about performance, projects or quality, it can lead to low morale, reduced efficiency, increased costs, and project delays. Crucial Conversations, offered by the UNM Ombuds Office, provides conversation techniques that can be applied immediately to difficult situations that may occur in your day-to-day professional or personal life.
In this online self-paced course with 1:1 coaching from Ombuds, you will learn how to: Resolve individual and group disagreements; speak persuasively, not abrasively, about high-stakes, emotional, or controversial topics; foster teamwork and better decision-making; build teams that work together and act with unity and conviction. Participants will receive a certificate upon course completion.
Anyone who registers for this course must also complete the Ombuds Service enrollment form and return the signed form to Anne Lightsey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Important Note: The course is only open to UNM Staff and Faculty
