Course Overview

Prepare to be adorned! This beginning course provides the fundamental techniques for the design and creation of handcrafted jewelry.

Starting with a series of sterling silver rings, you learn how to size, texture, chase, file, form, silver solder with an acetylene torch, saw, pierce, drill, oxidize,
hand-finish from satin to high polish, and follow safe studio practices. Your next project will involve fabricating a bezel cup and setting a cabochon stone.
We will work with sterling silver, fine silver, copper, brass and semi-precious stones. Local supply sources will be addressed, as well as working lavishly within a limited budget.

Note: A materials fee of $125 payable to Kristin Diener (check), Venmo (@kristin-diener) or cash will be collected at the first class meeting.
