Did you know that a third of the world’s food production depends on honeybees? Whether you're intrigued by their importance to our food supply or eager to learn how to maintain beehives in your backyard, join us for an in-depth exploration of beekeeping. Join us and gain the knowledge and skills needed to support, protect, and maintain bee colonies successfully.
Hands-On Experience:
This course includes two hours of onsite time with the bees. To participate in the hands-on session, protective equipment is required.

Classroom time will be augmented by two hours of onsite time with the bees. Protective equipment will be required to participate in the onsite component. Safety gear for beekeeping will be required to participate in the hands-on session. Safety gear includes the bee suit and equipment. Information on purchasing the equipment will be discussed in class. The cost for safety gear/equipment is approximately $250.
