Course Overview

In the philosophical literature of ancient Greece, Plato and Xenophon stand out as the primary writers that depict Socrates in action. It has been a recurrent philosophical question just which dialogues of both writers most accurately depict Socrates as he was. These dialogues are called Socratic Dialogues. There are several dialogues that both writers wrote, and I will pick out one from Xenophon and three from Plato to cover over four classes. I hope these will give a clear depiction of the philosopher Socrates as he lived in the fourth century of ancient Greece.
