On May 23, 1618, a group of Protestant nobles in Prague, defending their political and religious rights, famously hurled imperial officials from a castle window in the event known as the Defenestration of Prague. This dramatic act ignited the Thirty Years’ War, a complex and devastating conflict that drew in Europe’s great powers.We'll examine the causes, major actors, and consequences of the war, discussing how it reshaped religious conflict, state power, and the political and intellectual landscape of early modern Europe.
