2194 - Watercolor Painting
Course Overview
Explore the beauty and versatility of watercolor painting in this engaging, beginner-friendly series. Whether you're new to the medium or looking to refine your skills, each session is designed to build confidence and creativity through hands-on practice.
Lesson 1: Light & Blending Basics:
To break the ice, we'll start with a blind contour drawing of a still life. This is a fun twist on a classic exercise that lets everyone get comfortable with new techniques in a low-stakes environment.
Lesson 2: Mastering Contrast & Layers
Sketch a simple subject like an apple or flower; and we'll explore contrast and vibrancy through complementary colors and layering techniques respectively.
Lesson 3: Exploring Textures & New Techniques
Unleash your creativity with experimental methods! Practice wax resist, wet-on-wet, and wet-on-dry painting to create stunning textures. Use salt for dynamic effects and revisit lessons on contrast and layering in a playful, zentangle-inspired project.
Lesson 4: Your Creative Showcase
Bring it all together with a personal project! Choose your own subject or find inspiration in the provided still life. This session encourages freedom of expression, with guidance and constructive feedback to help you shine.
