Course Overview

An epic science fiction (Fantasy, Speculative Fiction, etc.) story takes you on a journey of discovery and wonder. We'll explore the elements of a good sci-fi, and how there are variations depending on the sub-genre you're working in. We'll each write our story bible (characters, work-building, etc.) as well as a short story or first chapter of a novel and review each other's work - a great way to learn how to be a better writer and focus on a rewrite with the elements of the sci-fi. We’ll discuss the importance of an engaging cover and how to provide other important information for our readers.

Please note: A word processing program or Scrivener is required. Participants must bring a willingness to give and receive critique in a respectful and supportive learning environment.
