Course Overview

Instructional Design is the process in which education and/or training is devised and distributed to an audience. This is essential in both corporate and education environments, along with everyday instances such as navigating websites online.

In this focused course, participants will be introduced to the foundations of instructional design via the Canvas learning management system (LMS) and how it can be used to design engaging and inclusive experiences for an audience. Participants will shape a course using the best practices of instructional design, create inclusive course content using the tools of the Canvas LMS, and devise a template that can be replicated for future projects.

Finally, participants will learn tips and recommendations for consulting with subject matter experts (SMEs) when working on a project, along with how to manage that project throughout its development. All materials used will be freely accessible to students, and this course is welcoming to both new and returning Instructional Designers alike.
