Course Overview
It’s important to ensure employees can perform at their best and achieve the organizations and their own goals. Human Resources is charged with being the clearinghouse and administrator of performance management, including reviews and corrective actions, while being instrumental in keeping employees motivated and engaged. Learn how to approach, and coach others to see feedback as a gift to give versus a chore to do. In completing this course, participants will understand performance management systems and methods, explore how to coach to inspire the best performance, and learn about addressing performance issues including through the corrective action process.

- Recognize the need for evaluating employee performance.
- Explore the benefits and pitfalls of formal employee reviews.
- Understand what motivates employees.
- Recognize the effective use of monetary and non-monetary rewards as motivation.
- Learn how to identify the four different personality types and how to best give them feedback.
- View feedback as a valuable gift to be given and received.
- Learn tips to make it easy to gather your documentation.
- Be able to write effective appraisals.
- Be able to deliver feedback comfortably and confidently.
- Develop and increase active listening skills.
- Understand how to set goals with employees and ensure they can be met.
- Learn how to effectively use performance improvement plans (PIPs) and corrective action when necessary.
Who Should Attend
Current or Aspiring supervisors, managers, or leaders, who conduct or will conduct employee performance reviews.Additional Information
Participants must complete all Modules/Chapters and score at least 90% on individual assessments to earn a Digital Badge.
