39132 - Advanced Ethics in Counseling
Course Overview
Ethical standards are the rules and principles of a profession. This course will facilitate ethical sensitivity and responsibility by expanding students’ knowledge of ethical, legal, and professional issues in counseling. Students will learn and apply an ethical decision-making process, including the role of personal and professional values, using case-related scenarios.
This course is NAADAC Approved for 4 professional training hours (CEUs). NM Counseling and Therapy Practice Board recognizes NAADAC approved hours.
Who Should Attend
- Students who have taken the Introduction to Substance Abuse class at UNM Continuing Education or a similar course at another institution are encouraged to attend.
- Licensed counselors interested in learning more about ethical, legal, and professional issues in counseling and/or earning Continuing Education (CE) credit.
- Individuals who are keenly interested in ethics and the ethical decision-making process.
Additional Information
Participant must attend the full 4 hours and complete assignment and/or exam at 70% and above to obtain a certificate of completion.UNM Tuition Remission
