2141 - Watercolor Landscape Fundamentals
Course Overview
Learn to create the illusion of light, value and space to create a landscape painting using watercolor paint! Discover the luminosity of watercolors to control the value of techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, dry brush and glazing. Students will learn to understand perspective and create the illusion of space using foreground, middle ground and background through the use of watercolor washes and color mixing. By creating a watercolor sampler of sky, water, clouds, trees, mountains and flowers, you will then select a composition of your own for your final art works. Students will learn how to gather reference photos and provide their own landscape photographs.

- Pentel Arts Watercolors, TUBES assorted, 5ml Tubes 12 color Set (WFRS-12) (pentel arts watercolor TUBES also available at Michaels)
- Halobias plastic paint palette 20 well and 5 mixing areas (or any plastic 20 well with mixing areas)
- Strathmore 300 Series Watercolor Paper Pad, Tape bound, (NOT WIRE BOUND) 11x15 inches 12 sheets (140lb) (also available at Michaels)
- Transon 8pcs Round Watercolors Paint Brush Set
- Optional: Transon Flat Paint Brush Set 7pcs

- 1 roll paper towels, 2 clear plastic cups for water 8 oz.
