Course Overview

How can humanity utilize natural resources and still live responsibly and sustainably on Earth? How may the science of Geology be applied to current and trending environmental issues? Environmental Geology deals with the impact of human activity, growth and expansion of civilization on the physical world.

It encompasses issues of climate change and management of water resources, salvaging mining lands; pinpointing geologically appropriate sites for construction, building power plants and other facilities and locating sources of new building materials. Join us and discuss how Geology may be applied to present day challenges in land use and the environment.
