Course Overview

Poetry, in all its many forms, inspires, motivates, entertains, and conveys powerful messages about our thoughts and perceptions of the world. We’ll explore what it takes to go from initial thought to final (if evolving) product. Each student will be shown how to recognize the poetry of their own life and how to translate that into a finished piece. We’ll discuss favorite poets, from the well-known to the obscure, and you’ll learn to develop your poetry from thought to a finished poetic page.
