Course Overview

They were authors, storytellers, Pueblo ancestors, religious saints, missionaries, transgressors, Harvey Girls, and Cowgirls. So often, their stories are unrecorded except through the art left behind. We’ll discuss the women, local and "imports", who contributed to the development of what is now New Mexico. Through slides, narration and the exhibition of Tina's original quilts, the audience will be introduced to some famous and many "not-so-famous" local and immigrant New Mexico Women.
