Course Overview

This course is designed for beginner meditators and holistic health. This course will teach the benefits of mindfulness meditation, the fundamentals and techniques of a meditation practice and prepare participants to establish a sustainable meditation practice. Learn the fundamentals of mindfulness meditation and the science supporting the health benefits of meditation. Understand and learn how to apply the techniques for the reduction of stress and anxiety in everyday life by practicing each week. Learn to continue the practice in your every day life.
What You'll Learn
Learn a variety of mindfulness and meditation techniques that are enforced weekly through class repetition and find what techniques work for you.
The course will cover:
- Breath work
- Shikantaza
- Koan practice
- Body scans
- Mindful eating
- Mindful conversation
- Metta Practice (loving-kindness)
- Mindfulness-based stress relief
- Trauma-sensitive mindfulness
- Working with difficult emotions (anger, grief, etc.)
