Course Overview

During this semester-long class, you will prepare a set song list for large-group instrumental presentation in multiple parts, participate in small ensembles, and prepare a solo for presentation. This class is only open to students who’ve completed Ukulele II at least once. Use of instruments beyond the ukulele may be required.

  • Develop skills in playing chord-melody and ensemble arrangements.
  • Improve on chord skills as accompaniment to singers.
  • Enhance solo and ensemble performance skills.
  • Develop the process of arranging, composing, and conducting your own music.

Who Should Attend

Students entering the class must be able to:

  • Read chord-melody tablature.
  • Read chord grids and use proper finger placements.
  • Finger pluck multiple strings simultaneously and play arpeggios.
  • Be prepared to work in large and small groups and prepare solo performances.

Practice time outside of class is required.
