What You'll Learn
- Develop an Applied Research Project Aligned with Public, Non-Profit, or Educational Sectors: Participants will design and execute a research project focused on real-world challenges within government, higher education, or civil society organizations, applying advanced theoretical and methodological frameworks.
- Strengthening Academic and Scientific Communication Skills: Participants will enhance their ability to communicate research findings effectively through the production of a final research document and its oral defense before an expert academic jury.
- Engage in International and Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Through participation in a diverse cohort and academic mentorship, participants will build networks for scientific and professional collaboration across Latin America and the United States.
- Apply Blended Learning Strategies Using Digital Academic Tools: Participants will develop digital competencies through the use of platforms such as Canvas and Zoom, enabling them to manage asynchronous and synchronous research activities effectively.
- Publish Research in an International Academic Context: Participants whose projects are approved will be eligible for publication in a special edition organized by UNM Continuing Education, contributing to global academic discourse and gaining international visibility.

- Researchers and University faculty members from universities and higher education institutions in Latin America, with particular emphasis on Mexico.
- High officials from federal, state and city governments with experience in public administration, policy design, or policy evaluation.
- Professionals in the non-profit sector, including members of civil society organizations working in social development, education, or governance.
- Postgraduate degree holders (Master’s or Doctorate) in fields related to government, public policy, higher education, public administration, or related disciplines.
- Senior executives, including presidents, vice presidents, and CEOs from corporations and leading industries related to government at its three levels (federal, state, and municipal), higher education institutions, and public policy institutes.

Participants are responsible for all costs related to travel, accommodation, and other expenses associated with the optional residency.
The program fee is USD $6,000, payable in one or two installments, with a discount for early full payment. Request for refund requires the participant to submit request in writing three (3) days prior to start date and is subject to a 30% administrative fee.
Upon completion, participants will receive an International Certificate issued by University of New Mexico Continuing Education and are invited to a certificate awarding ceremony during the residency.
Final research documents approved by the Academic Committee may be published by the convening institutions. Authors retain copyright while granting publication rights to the convening institutions.
