The Post Doctoral and Post Master Institute 2026: Applied Research for Government, Non-Profit, Business and Higher Education Sectors is a five-month international fellowship experience designed for university leaders, policymakers, corporate executives, nonprofit professionals, researchers, and institutional decision-makers committed to generating meaningful impact through applied research.
 
Delivered jointly by The Americas Conference of Universities (ACU) and University of New Mexico Continuing Education, the program combines live online seminars, distinguished keynote addresses, academic mentorship, independent research, and international collaboration within a flexible hybrid format.
 
Participants will develop an applied research project addressing real-world challenges in public policy, governance, higher education, nonprofit leadership, business, social innovation, and institutional development while engaging with an interdisciplinary international network of scholars and professionals from across the Americas.
Rather than emphasizing traditional coursework alone, the Institute promotes research-based learning, executive-level academic engagement, and personalized mentorship, enabling participants to strengthen their international academic profile and expand their professional impact.
 
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a jointly issued international certificate recognizing 200 hours of advanced academic and research training.

Additional Information

The Post Doctoral and Post Master International Institute is a five-month international fellowship experience that combines academic excellence, applied research, executive education, and international collaboration.
 
Key features of the program include:
  • A total of 200 instructional hours, consisting of 20 hours of live online instruction and 180 hours of asynchronous independent academic work under the supervision of an international academic mentor.
  • Every other week live online seminars or keynote addresses are held on Mondays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Mexico City Time)
  • Personalized academic mentorship provided by distinguished international faculty and academic leaders throughout the program
  • Development of an original applied research project addressing a real-world challenge within the participant's professional field
  • Access to academic readings, research resources, and complementary learning materials throughout the program
  • Opportunities to collaborate with an international cohort of professionals, researchers, university leaders, and policymakers from across the Americas
  • Outstanding final research projects may be considered for publication in an international academic proceedings volume edited by the sponsoring institutions, subject to academic review and editorial standards
  • Participants who successfully complete all academic requirements will receive a 200-hour Certificate of Completion jointly issued by The Americas Conference of Universities (ACU) and University of New Mexico Continuing Education
  • An optional academic visit to The University of New Mexico may be offered as part of the international experience, subject to institutional scheduling and participant availability
