Course Overview

This applied research program offers participants the opportunity to promote, enrich, or consolidate their research lines and, among other objectives, to develop networks for scientific and professional collaboration.

Participant selection is based on recognized academic, research and professional trajectory, and—where applicable—on the candidate’s standing within their government institutions, educational institutions or non-profit organizations.

What You'll Learn

  • Develop an Applied Research Project Aligned with Public, Non-Profit, or Educational Sectors: Participants will design and execute a research project focused on real-world challenges within government, higher education, or civil society organizations, applying advanced theoretical and methodological frameworks.
  • Strengthening Academic and Scientific Communication Skills: Participants will enhance their ability to communicate research findings effectively through the production of a final research document and its oral defense before an expert academic jury.
  • Engage in International and Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Through participation in a diverse cohort and academic mentorship, participants will build networks for scientific and professional collaboration across Latin America and the United States.
  • Apply Blended Learning Strategies Using Digital Academic Tools: Participants will develop digital competencies through the use of platforms such as Canvas and Zoom, enabling them to manage asynchronous and synchronous research activities effectively.
  • Publish Research in an International Academic Context: Participants whose projects are approved will be eligible for publication in a special edition organized by UNM Continuing Education, contributing to global academic discourse and gaining international visibility.
