Course Overview

Rehabilitation counseling assists individuals with disabilities in adapting to the environment by understanding it’s influence on the ability of these individuals to live, work and be active members of the community. Rehabilitation counseling is one of the first specialty areas within the broader profession of counseling. This course will review rehabilitation counseling’s scope of practice and ethical standards. NAADAC approved for 4 professional training hours.

  • Understand the specialty area of rehabilitation counseling and issues of importance related to the field.
  • Summarize ethical issues of concern to rehabilitation counselors.
  • Differentiate the roles and functions of rehabilitation counselors from other counseling specialty areas.
  • Apply a decision-making process to an ethical dilemma common to rehabilitation counseling.

Additional Information

Student will need to attend all course sessions and pass final exam or assignment with a 70% or above to receive course completion certificate.
