12710 - Blues/Folk Harmonica
Course Overview
This class provides hands-on instruction from an experienced professional musician on the basics of how to play the Harmonica. Beginning with how to hold the instrument and basic method and technique to get a full, rich sound, the class quickly progresses to learning to play simple songs and advances in the final sessions to “cross-harp” technique used for blues, rock, folk and country styles.
This class requires a harmonica in the key of "C," Hohner Corp or other similar brand.
What You'll Learn
- Create beautiful sounds!
- Learn to focus the airstream to play single-note melodies as well as chords and harmonies
- Learn Proper breathing, relaxation, and learning to “color” notes using sinus cavities and vowel sounds
- Learn exercises and simple folk songs and become familiar with the basic “geography” of where notes lay in the instrument.
