Learn flamenco music and dance!

The Conservatory of Flamenco Arts offers music and dance classes for adults of all skill levels. Absolute beginners are encouraged to try Adult Flamenco I, with Adult Flamenco II and III recommended for students with past flamenco experience.

Dance Classes

Adult Flamenco I
Mondays & Wednesdays 6-7 pm

Adult Flamenco II
Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-6 pm

Adult Flamenco III
Sundays 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Mondays 6-7 pm

Music Classes

Flamenco Guitar 1 with Eloy Gonzales  

Mondays & Wednesdays 4-5 pm

This multigenerational guitar class is excellent for those with little to no flamenco guitar experience. 

Flamenco Guitar 2 with Ángel Ruíz and Mario Febres 

Mondays & Wednesdays 5-6 pm

This multigenerational guitar class is excellent for those with some flamenco guitar experience who are working to deepen their skills. Guest artist Ángel Ruíz is the guitar teacher in residence for the Conservatory's fall semester. 

Cajón (Percussion) with Javier Saume Mazzei 

Tuesdays & Thursdays 4-5 pm

This multigenerational percussion class provides instruction in cajón, the box drum commonly used in flamenco. 

Cante (Flamenco Singing) Instructor TBD

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-6 pm

This multigenerational music class is excellent for all students of flamenco. No prior singing experience required.

Additional Information

The National Institute of Flamenco, founded in 1982, is an arts-based non-profit organization which exists to preserve and promote flamenco’s artistry, history, and culture by presenting the finest flamenco in the world and by educating the American family in this art form while emphasizing the positive influence of art on family and community. 

Established in 1999, CFA offers year-round, community-based and pre-professional dance training as well as music programming in Albuquerque, New Mexico’s historic Sawmill District.  CFA is a world-renowned flamenco school that follows a proven curriculum to offer pre-professional training, professional development, and community enrichment in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
