What is money? Is money freedom and fun, or a block with a chain pulling you underwater? Are you managing your money, or is it managing you? Are you wondering why that free cell phone is so expensive? Who is FICA, and why do they take so much from my check? If you are tired of eating instant noodles at the end of every pay period, this class is for you. Financial literacy 101 will teach you some money basics, financial terms, and how to evaluate everyday offers.

Knowledge is the key to a healthy financial future.

What You'll Learn

  • Learn to manage your money, shop smart and establish and live by a budget
  • Learn to establish savings and manage debt; understand the power of compound interest 
  • Understand basic contracts and loans (rent/lease, car, credit and debit cards) 
  • Be knowledgeable about insurance – car, renters, cell phone, etc.

Young adults and anyone with an interest in increasing their basic money management skills.
