38235 - Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Healing Practices In-Person
Course Overview
There is a wide variety of healing methodologies in our world today. One in three adults and about one in nine children in the United States use some form of integrated medicine. This class will explore some of the CAM approaches - from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to Ayurvedic, from herbs and nutrition, to body works, and from energy to light and sound modalities. Guest speakers will be invited to speak on their specific approaches to healing; there will be significant class participation and sharing throughout. Resources for the class will be drawn from instructor training and credentials, Mayo Clinic, National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), International Journal of Health Sciences and other reputable sources.What You'll Learn
- Participants will learn about the major domains of healing modalities.
- Pariticipants will experience and see a variety of alternative and complimentary healing practices.
- Participants will be empowered to improve their health by understanding and utilizing more integrative healing modalities with their health provider.
- Participants will hear from specialists in various health fields in complementary medicine and have time for questions
