Course Overview

Did the magnificent sky above “instruct” prehistoric people on the earth below how to design their huge megalithic stone structures? Were they duplicating on earth patterns they saw in the night sky? The Neolithic people of 5,000 years ago in Europe were brilliant astronomers and builders. Many megalithic structures were oriented to the sun, and some to the moon. Fewer were oriented to major stars and constellations. As ritual centers, these stone temples anchored every activity of Neolithic people. Together, we will grasp the practices of archaeo-astronomy embedded in the stones of ancient sites in Europe.
