Course Overview

Romance is one of the best selling genres in the world, and continues to grow. In this six week class, we will explore the conventions of the genre (whether historical, modern, or futuristic) and how to write a story and characters that make the reader fall in love.  Students will learn about outlining, research, creating tension and conflict, character development, writing intimate scenes, and editing. Time will be spent at the end of each class reading each other's current work and contributing constructive feedback (for those who wish it).
