Course Overview

The Conqueror and King of Macedonia, Alexander the Great was born on July 20, 356 BCE, in Pella, in the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia.  He succeeded his father, Philip II, to the throne at the age of 20.  His remains have been lost to history in Alexandria, Egypt, but the remains of his father have been found in a tomb in Northern Greece. Truly one of the most inspirational figures of all time! Learn in this lecture about the origins of Alexander the Great and his possible genetic origins.
