Course Overview

Step into a fresh, hands-on culinary experience with our Farm to Table Cooking Series with a 4-session journey from soil to skillet where students begin with an immersive field trip to Chispas Farms to explore organic growing practices and discover the value of locally sourced ingredients, and learn how seasonality shapes flavor and nutrition, then continue with three engaging, skill-building cooking classes at the Indian Pueblo Entrepreneur Complex Commercial Kitchen, transforming fresh, seasonal produce into delicious, healthy meals while learning essential techniques and nutrition basics, bringing the full farm-to-table experience to life for anyone ready to cook with confidence and eat with purpose.

All ingredients cost is included in the tuition fee.

In this cooking program, you’ll explore the foundations of nutrition, including how to build a balanced plate, how to incorporate carbohydrates, fiber, protein, and fats into your daily meals, strategies for supporting balanced blood sugar, and mindful eating practices. Each session brings these concepts to life through hands-on cooking, where you’ll learn to create meals that are both nourishing and delicious. We’ll also focus on essential knife skills, practical cooking techniques, and simple ways to build flavor with confidence.

Participants will leave this program with a strong foundation in both nutrition and cooking, along with practical skills they can immediately apply in their daily lives. Specifically, participants will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of basic nutrition concepts, including how to build balanced meals that support energy, blood sugar balance, and overall health.

In this 4-session Farm to Table cooking program, students will begin with an introductory session at Chispas Farms (229 Saavedra Rd SW), where they will get hands-on with seasonal and local produce and get grounded in the principles of cooking with what's fresh and local. The following 3 sessions will take place at the Indian Pueblo Entrepreneur Complex Commercial Kitchen (2402 12th St NW), where students will continue building their culinary skills.
